Controversial question: about marriage!?

hola! okay so my aunt is getting married and my grandma is having a bridal party for her, where people will give the gifts, my grandma thinks that after the party is over and all the gifts have been given she should just leave a decorated basket with a whole bunch of thank you cards written out and signed by the bride for each person to take as they leave. now the question is do you think this is rude? she doesnt, because she doesnt want to send out the cards or pay 40 dollars for stamps. i on the other hand do think its rude, i think its very impersonal, i understand where shes coming from but it will probably make a lot of people mad. what do you think?
