Quierdo Latinos y Personas de Espana.....?

You would never say "te amo" to your mom or dad, only to your significant other. You can say "te quiero" to your friends without sounding strange. You could tell a casual friend "tu me gustas". "Me encantas" means the same thing in English as it does in Spanish, "You enchant me", which is not something most people would say to their friends or family in most cases, but would be something said to your romantic love interest. You can say "Me encanta..." when you mean you're REALLY into something, like "Me encanta nadar", which means "I love to swim". If you're not totally ga-ga for swimming, but you still like to do it, you would say "Me gusta nadar".
